Acer Liquid E Smartphone Tipped For Rogers Release In June

Rumors Suggest Rogers Will Launch The Android Based Acer Liquid E Smartphone In June For $49 On Contract

The Acer Liquid E is certainly a capable looking smartphone, and while it was originally unveiled back in February during Mobile World Congress, we are just now getting some more information in regards to pricing and availability. At this time, the details that we have are for Rogers.

Of course, it is worth mentioning that this has not been officially announced as of yet and at this time the information is coming courtesy of what was described as a “reliable Rogers tipster.” Given that, we tend to believe this is accurate, but as always the final pricing and release timeframe may still change.

With the silly disclaimer out of the way, lets get on with the good stuff — how much and when. The Acer Liquid E smartphone is expected to come available with Rogers in June for an on-contract price of $49.99. And by on-contract I am referring to the three year deal. Additionally, for those looking to shell out some more money upfront and avoid the long term commitment, your price would be $374.99, which all things considered is not al that bad. Granted, the Liquid E is not the top of the line Android smartphone at this point, but still its nothing to shy away from if you are considering going with an Android based phone.

Regardless of the pricing and agreement length that you choose to go with, here is what you can expect in terms of features.

  • 3.5 inch WVGA high definition capacitive touchscreen display
  • 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (Underclocked to 768MHz)
  • 5 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities
  • Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • microSD card slot
  • 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM
  • 4.56 x 2.12 x 0.5 inches
  • 4.76 ounces

Additionally, the Acer Liquid E will come sporting Android 2.1. And with that we are now sitting back and waiting for the official word to come from Rogers.
