HTC Droid Incredible Source Code Now Available for Interested Coders
You’d think that the whole excitement around the HTC Droid Incredible would have toned down a bit, now that Verizon has finally started selling it. But it looks like the device still manages to steal the headlines of tech blogs and shapes up to be the main Android iPhone adversary at least until the HTC EVO 4G and iPhone 4G come out.

HTC decided to release the source code of the HTC Droid Incredible, but then again, they kinda have to do it. Sure it won’t contain all the HTC proprietary code but the most important things are there so curios coders can already start working on the available kernel code.
HTC did one better as it also released the Droid Eris and Legend source codes so now you get to play with any or all of them as they are all available to download on HTC’s official website:
- Droid Incredible by HTC(Verizon) Kernel Source Code – 56.0 MB
- Droid Eris MR by HTC (Verizon) Kernel Source Code – 56.3 MB
- HTC Legend Kernel Source Code – 56.0 MB
While we’re waiting for the HTC Droid Incredible to be rooted, we’ll tell you that the device has already received an over-the-air update which apparently fixes the Microsoft Exchange bug that some users experienced:
It was discovered that customers using Exchange for corporate email may find when an email is opened that has no recipients in the CC field, unintended recipients email addresses can sometimes be added into the CC field from previously received emails when the user selects the reply all function. The update that is being pushed to customers is to correct that issue. THIS ONLY IMPACTS EXCHANGE Users (corporate users).
So if your company didn’t buy the device for you then you’re probably not even going to notice the update.
On a different note, strange reports came in saying that some Droid Incredible users are experiencing random reboots. Have you been affected by the issue?
