Dell Inspiron 13R, 14R, 15R, 17R & M501R Surface, Not Properly Announced Yet

Dell Makes Available New Laptops Without a Proper Announcement: 13R, 14R, 15R, 17R & M501R Models Coming Soon

Dell has plans for new laptops for us but the company didn’t want to spoil everything with a neatly written press release. Instead they have made their new Inspiron R notebook line available on the Internet and we’re going to take a look at each of them and see if we get inspired in any way.

We’ll be looking at specs and features for the the Inspiron M501R, 17R, 15R, 14R and 13R, in this particular order:

  • Processor: up to AMD Phenom II X4 processors (M501R); up to Intel Core i5 processors (17R, 15R, 14R and 13R)
  • OS: Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate and Home Basic SP2, all on 64-bit (M501R, 17R, 15R, 14R and 13R)
  • Screen: 15.6-inch HD (720p) WLED display with TrueLife (M501R, 15R); 17.3-inch HD (900p) glossy WLED display with TrueLife (17R); 14.0-inch widescreen HD (720p) glossy WLED display with TrueLife (14R); 13.3-inch Widescreen HD (720p) glossy WLED display with TrueLife
  • Video: Standard ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250; optional ATI Mobility Radeon HD 550v 1GB / ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 512MB / ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 1GB
  • Memory: up to 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
  • Storage: up to 500GB 5400ROM SATA hard drive (M501R, 17R, 14R, 13R) up to 640 5400RPM SATA hard drive (15R)
  • Wireless: various a/g/n bundles from Dell Wireless or Intel Centrino and optional WiMAX support.
  • Built-in Dell Dock support

As you can see there’s nothing really spectacular going on here. Sure there are some very decent specs up here but we wouldn’t expect anything else from Dell especially since the competition has plenty of similar computers for you.

In case you think it’s too complicated to figure out exactly what specs and features match certain notebooks then hit the via link below which will take you to the official Dell page.

We’d like to offer you some official prices for these lappies right here but we don’t have them yet. What’s safe to say though is that these babies right here will be quite affordable, like most Dell machines available out there.
