Vodafone Nexus One Officially Available Today, April 30th

Reports Of Pre-Order Inventory Running Low Seem To Have Passed, Vodafone Nexus One Sales Go Live, Still Being Offered Free On-Contract

Vodafone first put the Nexus One up for pre-order a little less than a week ago, and we pretty quickly began hearing reports that the handset had sold out. Or more specifically, reports came in that orders were still being accepted, but that the shipment would be delayed for a period of around 7-10 working days. That aside, the pre-order status has since changed to currently available, and those early sold-out reports seem to have been put aside.

A quick check of the Vodafone website has the Nexus One up and available and makes no mention of a delay of any kind. In short, it looks like you can place an order for the Nexus One and have it actually shipped and delivered.

The thought here is that Vodafone actually may have sold out of an amount that was set aside for pre-orders, but now that the handset has shifted to a currently available status they have more stock on hand. Either that or maybe they just panicked after they ran out and had Google send a bunch more their way. Either situation though, the good news is the phone is available.

And even better is that it is still being offered free on contract. Of course, that free on contract means signing a two year agreement and getting a plan that is at least £35 a month. And just for those keeping track, the £35 a month plan includes 600 anytime minutes with unlimited texts as well as 1GB of mobile internet and Wi-Fi access. Or those looking for more minutes can always opt to pay £40, £45 or £75 a month for 900, 1200 or 3000 minutes respectively.

And at that I cannot help but feel a little jealous that you can get a Nexus One for free on Vodafone. The best price we have available here in the US comes by way of T-Mobile and it is still $179.
