Nokia Partners with Dolby To Bring You Surround Sound On Your Mobile

Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 Surround Sound Technology Not Just On Nokia N8 Smartphone

Nokia’s N8 smartphone might be the first handset to incorporate Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound technology. However, it certainly won’t be the last as Sony teams up with Dolby to bring its surround sound technologies to its other phones.

The two companies revealed their collaboration following the successful launch of the Nokia N8 smartphone. Selected Nokia phones in the future might also be able to “offer a true home theater experience with HD quality and Dolby Digital Plus surround sound by simply plugging the device into a home theater system with an HDMI cable.”

No details on what phones will include Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 technology or when they will be release, but it has been revealed that it would take effect worldwide.
