Dell Aero Now Confirmed As Google Friendly [AT&T Splash Page Confirms Dell Aero Will Come With All Google Apps Including Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube & Market]
The AT&T branded Dell Aero had made its way into the hands of select individuals a short while back, and that managed to cause a little bit of an uproar. What was discovered at the time was that the Dell Aero was not sporting much in terms of Google. And that lead many to believe that the Aero was going to be as crippled as the Motorola Backflip. Thankfully that turns out to not be the case.

Initially, both Dell and AT&T mentioned that the devices that were being reviewed contained early versions of the software and would still see some changes. That said, it sounded good but still many needed more in terms of proof. Well, in a little bit of good news for anyone that may have been lusting over a Google equipped Aero — that proof has arrived in the form of a splash page on the AT&T website.
That page is “Introducing the Dell Aero Smartphone” of which it makes note that it is the “lightest Android smartphone ever.” Interesting little fact there, but that is getting off topic here. If you read down a little further you can clearly see that the Dell Aero will have Google services to include the Android Market, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Talk, Gmail and even Google search. Take that Yahoo!.
Other details mentioned on the splash page include that the Aero will have access to any of the 20,000 plus AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots as well as Flash Lite support and the ability to upload pictures and videos (from the 5MP camera) to sites such as Flickr, Picasa, TwitPic, YouTube and Facebook.
But in the end, while this splash page was good news in terms of the Google apps it still does not tell us whether Aero users will be able to install non-Market apps. Sadly though even if you cannot load non-Market apps, these Google related bits would lead one to speculate that the Aero will easily top the Backflip in terms of sales.
