Samsung Stride SCH-r330 Strides Into Availability With US Cellular [The Samsung Stride, Your Basic No Frills Flip Phone Now Available For $29.99]

Today Samsung and US Cellular have announced the immediate availability of the Stride mobile phone. And the handset is just that, your basic mobile phone. Certainly, this bad boy will not be right for everyone, however I am sure there is someone out there still looking for a basic flip phone.

In terms of features, the Samsung SCH-r330 Stride is described as being a “classic clamshell design equipped with favorable features.” And just like that the description can be done. Of course, there are more features such as how the Stride is sporting an “eye-catching red with black trim” exterior. But outside styling aside, the Stride also comes touting a 96 x 96 pixel display, T9 text entry, 55MB of internal storage, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and a speakerphone.

Other little perks found on the Stride include a one touch Navigation Key and Shortcut Key as well as multilingual text display, auto key lock and 72 polyphonic ringtones. Additionally, those that make the purchase will be able to spend a few extra bucks by way of the EasyEdge service which will allow you to download ringtones, games, wallpapers and even business applications.

Rounding out the features we have a handset that measures in at 3.66 x 1.89 x 0.70 inches, weighs just 3.1 ounces and has a battery that is said to be able to offer up to 4.5 hours of talk time.

Best of all — the Samsung Slide is available as of today and will only set you back $29.99. And while I may poke a little fun at a basic phone I can see some advantages such as an outdoor worker that just wants to be able to keep in touch and not worry about ruining a high priced smartphone, or as shocking as this may sound — someone that wants a phone to simply makes calls. Anyway, if that is you or someone you know, US Cellular is the place to go.
