Droid Incredible by HTC Stars in New Verizon Droid Commercial [Verizon Mentions Only Hot Specs in New Commercial, Actual Droid Incredible Must Have Been Sold Before the Ad Was Shot]

You know how you can tell that a phone is really hot? Just look at the commercial the manufacturer or the carrier makes for it! If the handset is not featured at all it must mean that it has already been sold before being actually captured on camera. That’s right, we have the first official Verizon Droid Incredible by HTC ad for you but it doesn’t feature any of its specs.

The Droid Incredible sold very well and we have already told you that Verizon can’t ship any more units until later in May. But leaving jokes aside the commercial that Verizon is ready to pitch to its customers will offer you a totally new approach on how a carrier is willing to show you its flagship phone.

Verizon shows us the new smartphone by conveniently not revealing it at all in the 30-second clip above. Instead we see plenty of specs in front of our eyes which are supposed to highlight the main qualities of the device:

  • 1GHz Snapdragon processor
  • 8-megapixel camera
  • 3.7-inch AMOLED Hi-resolution Display
  • Android OS (since it’s a Droid)

Every time I look at these commercials I get the awful feeling that Verizon is actually selling the first Terminator version. The fact that Big Red calls all its Android handsets Droids doesn’t help that much either.

I don’t know about you, but I both agree and disagree with the way Verizon made this ad. Since it so happens that I know a lot about the phone as I do write about it quite often, I’d be definitely convinced to buy an Incredible when seeing the short clip above. But there are other people out there who aren’t aware of all these specs. Or if they are aware of its features, they might not know if the Droid Incredible is really a good choice or if there are better Android alternatives out there. In which case they should definitely subscribe to TFTS for all the hot Android news they shouldn’t miss, but I digress.

And let’s not forget the looks factor. Would you buy a phone you don’t like? Would you even go check on a phone that you haven’t really seen in a commercial conceived for it?
