Buffalo SHD-PEHU3 External USB 3.0 SSD Launched
Buffalo have officially launched their new, external/portable USB 3.0 touting SSD range in the form of the Buffalo SHD-PEHU3 SSD series which offer up to 4.8 gigabits per second data transfer speeds and which, should you be looking to buy for a future upgrade, will happily play ball with the USB 2.0 and USB 1.0 standards, meaning the new SSDs can be used with non USB 3.0 – USB 2.0 and USB 1.0 -systems now prior to you upgrading to a newer system touting the latest standard in USB connectivity.

The newly announced, gloss finished Buffalo SHD-PEHU3 External USB 3.0 SSDs, which measure in at a highly portable 97 (W) x 57 (H) x 12 (D) mm and which weigh in at a mere 66g, are set to be offered in three versions sporting 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities and will come bundled with a Buffalo software suite taking in backup and encryption functionalities.

Of course, as you’d suspect, these new USB 3.0 SSDs will come at a premium with pricing on there release in Japan towards the end of May coming in at the equivalent of around $282, $510 and $1,079 for the 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacity drives respectively.
As yet there’s no official word from Buffalo as to when, or if, a wider, international release may occur.
