Motorola Backflip Now Available With Telus [Telus Releases The Android Powered Motorola Backflip With MOTOBLUR, Available Today For $99.99 on Contract]
It looks like Best Buy was just a little ahead of the game when they began offering the Telus branded Motorola Backflip on pre-order last week because as of today Telus has announced that the handset is officially available. Lets begin with the important stuff — pricing and availability.

The Motorola Backflip is available as of today and is priced as low as $99.99 on a three year agreement. Of course, that $99.99 price tag does require the customer to attach a data plan. Otherwise, sans data plan that same three year deal would mean you would be paying $249.99 up front for the phone.
In terms of features, to start off with, the Backflip comes with a unique reverse hinged QWERTY keyboard — hence the backflip name. Additionally, that QWERTY keyboard also contains a BACKTRACK trackpad for easier navigation.

Other features include a 3.1 inch (320 x 480) HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 5 megapixel camera with flash, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, GPS, Bluetooth, speakerphone, 512MB of internal storage and a microSD card slot with support for cards up to 16GB in size. The battery life is said to be up to 6 hours of talk time with 13.5 days on standby.
Moving past the hardware and into software, you can expect to find Android OS 1.5 with MOTOBLUR on top as well as all of the Google goodies such as Gmail, Google Maps and the Android Market. Touching on MOTOBLUR for a second, and that will bring most of your social media needs up front with easy access to sites like Twitter and Facebook as well as other messages including email and text.
Getting back to the pricing for a moment, you can also opt for a shorter agreement in exchange for a few more bucks up front. Other pricing is $299.99 for a two year agreement as well as $349.99 and $399.99 for one year and contract free.
Finally, just in case you are set with Telus and looking for another Android handset, you can also choose the Motorola Milestone or the HTC Hero.
