New iPhone 4G/HD Features Uncovered: Landscape Home Screen, Wi-Fi Syncing & More
After following the whole iPhone 4G/HD saga I can honestly say I wish the next-gen iPhone wasn’t unveiled two months before being officially announced. It’s not fun anymore waiting for it when we already know so much about what it will have to offer. At the same time we are well aware that the device hides plenty of features which are going to be unveiled only at WWDC 2010 in June.

The web is filled with various rumors talking about the next-gen iPhone’s features which are now said to include landscape home screen support, video chat with Game Center integration and Wi-Fi syncing.
There’s a screenshot circling the web which shows a notification pop up on iPhone OS 4.0 that happens to be displayed in landscape mode. If that’s possible then why shouldn’t there also be a landscape home screen option available? Of course there’s always the possibility of this being just another remarkable photoshopped image so we’ll be waiting for the WWDC to learn more.
Video chat support is something that we’ve been talking about for ages now. The iPhone 4G/HD is apparently going to get a front-facing camera which will naturally come with video chat support. It looks like the latest iPhone SDK beta 2 is offering more evidence that supports video chat capabilities and there’s even a hinted Game Center integration. We have no clear indication on how that will all work right now but it seems that gamers will be able to chat or coordinate calls with other Game Center participants.
Last but not least the next-gen iPhone is said to bring Wi-Fi syncing which is definitely a nice feature. According to this video below Wi-Fi syncing between the iPhone and iTunes will be possible in the near future thanks to a simple application. Said application, Wi-Fi Sync, has not been approved by Apple yet but if it becomes available in the App Store you will have to remember that Wi-Fi syncing will not also charge your handset.
