Eye-Fi Geo X2 Wireless Memory Card Now Official for Apple Products
Eye-Fi Inc. announced today a new addition to its Eye-Fi wireless memory card line. This time around we’re talking about an Apple-dedicated Wi-Fi enabled memory card that “seamlessly integrates with Macintosh computers, iPhone and MobileMe.” I am talking about the Eye-Fi Geo X2 which will be available in May in Apple Stores for $69.99.

Jef Holove, CEO of Eye-Fi commented on the new product:
We’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response to our new X2 line and the improved experience it’s brought our users. Now we’re bringing the Eye-Fi Geo X2 exclusively to Apple so that their users can effortlessly upload photos and videos for seamless editing and sharing with iPhoto and MobileMe.
It’s funny how this product comes off right after the iPad’s US arrival. The good news here is that instead of getting an iPad Camera Connection Kit you could be better off buying a 4GB Eye-Fi Geo X2 card instead. The bad news is that you’d still require that iPad camera adapter to connect other USB devices to the iPad.
But the Eye-Fi Geo X2 card unveiled today will work with most Apple products so professional photographers that rely on a Mac for their everyday business will surely find the Geo X2 an interesting addition to their gadgets’ collection.
So what does the Eye-Fi Geo X2 wireless memory card has to offer? Here’s a quick specs and features list:
- 802.11n transmitter
- Class 6 read/write speeds
- Lifetime Geotagging
- Virtually endless storage capacity with Endless Memory mode
- Wireless photo and video backup
- Automatically photo and video upload to MobileMe, Facebook, Flickr, Picasa and YouTube
So there you have it, folks, the latest Eye-Fi wireless memory card addition to the new X2 family has been already made available. The Geo X2 is coming soon so go tell your camera all about the new tiny device that’s going to enter its life this May!
