BlackBerry Curve 8520 Rumored For A Fuschia Red Release With T-Mobile [Fuschia Red BlackBerry Curve 8520 Expected To Arrive With T-Mobile On May 19th]
This is not the first time the Internet was buzzing with rumors of T-Mobile getting ready to launch a BlackBerry Curve 8520 in a new color, and now it looks like that time has arrived. Well, almost arrived. According to the details, which are coming courtesy of a leaked screenshot, the Curve 8520 will launch on May 19th in Fuschia Red.

And now for anyone that is excited about a red BlackBerry Curve 8520 coming to T-Mobile — lets recap the specs. Of course, these are the same as the Curve 8520 in other colors. That said, you will find a 2.64 inch display with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution, 2 megapixel camera with digital zoom, 512MHz processor, 125MB RAM, 256MB ROM, microUSB, microSD/SDHC card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and optical trackpad. Additionally, the Curve 8520 has a 1150 mAh battery that should offer up to 4.5 hours of talk time and 17 hours on standby. All of this comes in a package the measures in at 4.29 x 2.36 x 0.55 inches and weighs 3.74 ounces.
Nothing was mentioned in terms of pricing, however it seems likely that the fuschia red Curve 8520 will fall in line with the current T-Mobile pricing, which is $49.99 with a two year agreement attached.
All said and done, and assuming the price is right this could serve as a nice upgrade phone for current BlackBerry users. If nothing else, the optical trackpad would be a nice perk for anyone carrying a BlackBerry with a regular trackball.
I think the funniest part of this comes in the form of the leaked screenshot. If you actually read that it is almost like T-Mobile is admitting this is far from a hot phone.
“They don’t need anything fancy, just something efficient and functional.”
Its kind of like saying we know this is not what you really want, but we think you can still be reasonably happy.
