BlackBerry Bold 9650 Officially Announced By RIM [BlackBerry Bold 9650 Comes With The Look Of A Tour, But Has Wi-Fi & 512MB Internal Storage]
We saw the early details revealed a few hours ago, and as expected WES 2010 has kicked off today and with that came the official unveiling of the BlackBerry Bold 9650. Of course, at first glance of the image you may think you are looking at a BlackBerry Tour. In fact, the Bold 9650 is very Tour-like in looks however it has a few extra goodies that left many Tour users wanting more.

Diving right into the specs, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 has a 480 x 360 pixel display, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, speakerphone, 512MB of internal storage, microUSB port, 1400mAh battery, optical trackpad and a full QWERTY keyboard. Additionally, the Bold 9650 will have support for UMTS, EDGE and CDMA/EVDO REVA networks, which means it will be a world phone. In terms of size and weight, the Bold 9650 measures in at 4.4 x 2.4 x 0.56 inches with a weight of 4.8 ounces.
Other features include a microSD card slot with support for cards of up to 32GB in size and coming with a 2GB microSD card included in the box. As for battery life, according to the spec sheet you can expect up to 5 hours of talk time and 13 days on standby. You will also find easy mobile access to social sites like Facebook, MySpace and Flickr as well as the Blackberry standards to include BlackBerry Media Sync, BlackBerry Messenger, BlackBerry Maps and the App World.
One other little tidbit from the press release includes how RIM is touting the ability to “talk on the phone while browsing the web or sending and receiving email.” Of course it should be made clear that this comes in the form of Wi-Fi browsing and not 3G or any other cellular network browsing.
As for availability, you can expect the BlackBerry Bold 9650 to arrive in May when it should take up a home with both Sprint and Verizon Wireless.
