Palm Prepares To Hit The Streets & Give Away Free Accessories
Shifting away from the doom and gloom news that we have been posting about Palm lately, and we have now have some news that lucky webOS users may be receiving free accessories. This latest bit is coming directly from the official Palm blog, and I have to say I am glad its coming directly from the source because otherwise I may have been crying foul. Anyway, according to the post, as of today Palm will be sending out a “small group of tote-bag-toting Palm envoys” who will be on the lookout for anyone who is proudly sporting a webOS smartphone. Heck they are even encouraging you to “not be shy about it,” in terms of showing off your phone.

Of course, aside from the obvious fact that depending on where you are living it may not be a good idea to wave around a fancy looking smartphone. But that aside, if you are spotted by one of the tote-bag-toting envoys you could receive some free schwag.
The goodies are said to include everything from a Touchstone charging dock, to induction charging back for the Pixi, as well as cases and even stickers. Which coincidentally, I have been a Palm user for longer than I can remember and have never gotten a Palm sticker.
But my sticker envy aside, the group could be out and about anywhere that Palm phones are sold. I guess that means I have a pretty slim chance of seeing them in my Florida town, but one can still hope.
Moving on though, this was not mentioned in the post, but I would hope that this group will also have a few phones on hand. Not to give away, but just to let non-webOS users check out and play with. Palm really has a good thing in webOS, and the more people that get hands on the better.
