HTC Confirms Incredible Smartphone Is Not Launching In The UK [UK Android Fans Shed A Tear As HTC Confirms Incredible Will Not Cross The Pond]

Sometimes it seems like nothing more than stating the obvious, and sometimes it seems like nothing more than delivering the bad news. In this case, I am thinking this is bad or at least disappointing news. That said, HTC, by way of their official Twitter account have confirmed that the Incredible will not be launching in the UK. The message came by way of a reply to a question, and stated simply enough;

“There is currently no plan for Incredible to go to the UK.”

Of course, that bad news also come along with a reminder that the UK has the Desire, which happens to be currently available. And that is something that cannot be said about the HTC Incredible. As you may remember, the HTC Incredible has been announced for, and is available as a pre-order with Verizon as of now. Though that will be changing shortly, as of April 29th.

Offering a side by side comparison of the two devices (the Desire and Incredible) they are pretty close to the same. Take for example, both handsets have a 3.7 inch capacitive multitouch display with a 480 x 800 resolution, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.1 with Sense UI, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Stereo Bluetooth, a microSD card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack and more.

As for those differences, well, the Incredible also has 802.11n Wi-Fi as well as an 8 megapixel camera (the Desire has a 5MP) and much more internal storage.

In the end, while not the same its hard to be super jealous when comparing the Desire to the Incredible. But at the same time, they do call it the Incredible for a reason, the specs are just that and the amount of internal storage alone is pretty sweet.

And finally, we cannot help but point out that the Legend is also available and the Nexus One is still coming. So while the UK may not have the Incredible, they also have no shortage of current Android phones.
