Dell Smoke Android Smartphone Leaked; to Bring QWERTY Keyboard & Android Froyo [Dell Smoke Looks Like a Palm Pixi But Wants to be Much Better]

After Flash we can expect some Smoke today. The Dell Smoke is the last Android handset from Dell that got leaked and it ends our little Dell smartphone saga that featured the Lightning (WP7 handset), the Thunder and the Flash here on TFTS.

As you can already see the Smoke here combines two very important features, a full QWERTY keyboard and a generous touchscreen. See that, RIM? That’s one more example of how to combine these two elements in order to make them look good.

So let’s look at the full list of specs of the Smoke here:

  • 2.8-inch QVGA TFT touchscreen display
  • Full QWERTY keyboard
  • 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7230 processor
  • Tri-band WCDMA support & quad-band GSM
  • GPRS Class 10
  • EDGE Clase 10, HSDPA 14.4Mbps,
  • HSUPA 5.76Mbps
  • 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, digital zoom and video capture
  • Support for video and audio files
  • 512MB/256MB internal memory
  • Up to 32GB microSD storage expansion
  • USB 2.0 and mircoUSB support
  • Wi-Fi b/g
  • AGPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • 3.5mm headset jack
  • Dimensions: 120 x 59.8 x 10.5mm
  • 1,170mAh battery: 6 hours of talk time over 3G, up to 576 standby hours with 3G active
  • Proximity sensor, accelerometer, touchpad navigation, digital compass, voice commands, speakerphone, 2 microphones
  • Flash 10 support
  • Android Froyo

The Smoke might be at the lower end of the upcoming Dell Android handset line but it still looks like a very dependable device. In case you want a Palm Pixi you’d better reconsider and wait for this particular baby to come out.

The Dell Smoke will be able to offer professionals on the go lots of resources to take advantage of but I guess the Thunder and the Flash will be just a little better than this Froyo-running baby at doing the same tasks.

The phone will only arrive in the second quarter of 2011 and by then we’ll probably have plenty of new Android handsets to play with. We’re also hoping that RIM will come to its senses and launch some sort of BlackBerry smartphone that would come with both a touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard and will be worth praising.
