Dell Flash Android Smartphone Gets Leaked, to Offer Froyo

Dell Flash Handset to Come with Android 2.2 Froyo Support; You Need a Flash to Have Lightning

Just earlier today we’ve seen the WP7-powered Dell Lightning and the Android-based Dell Thunder get leaked. And it looks like you need flash after all (no pun intended) to have some sort of lightning! The Flash is another leaked Dell handset which we’re going to look at.

It’s clear that Dell would rather put the most of its money on Android right now, even if it’s willing to try Windows Phone 7 devices too for its customers. The Flash is a superslim portrait Android device which looks like it has what it takes to impress. But then again all the other Dell handsets we’ve seen today are pretty interesting, at least in theory.

The Flash comes with a full list of specs and features so let’s take a look at them:

  • 3.5-inch WVGA TFT touchscreen display
  • 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7230 processor
  • Tri-band WCDMA & quad-band GSM support
  • GPRS Class 10
  • EDGE Class 10
  • HSDPA 14.4Mbps
  • HSUPA 5.76Mbps or better
  • 5-megapixel camera with LED Flash, continuous digital 8x zoom, Image stabilization, video and audio recording
  • Support for various video files playback
  • Video edition
  • One touch push upload to favorite sites or home library
  • Support for various audio files
  • 512MB RAM
  • 512MB ROM
  • Up to 64GB microSD storage expansion (in case someone will make such cards)
  • Dimensions: 120 x 59.8 x 11.8 mm (current model) target: 117 x 58 x 11.00
  • 1,300mAh battery
  • Target Standby: 725 hours, talk time: 12 hours
  • Handwriting recognition, E-compass, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor
  • Android Froyo OS
  • Flash 10.1. support

The Thunder lacked such a complex specs sheet so we can’t really say which one of these two handsets is the better one. While the Dell Flash definitely comes with some spectacular features, the Thunder also has some characteristics worth checking out.

What’s also interesting is that the Flash comes with Froyo, Google’s latest Android OS. And, because it sounds so good, I’ll also tell you that Flash comes with Flash support for a better web experience. In fact, not only does the Dell Flash come with Adobe’s Flash support but it also has a LED Flash. Did you have enough Flash for today?

The phone will arrive in Q1 2011 so we’ll talk more about it when it becomes official.
