Acer Aspire One 521 Netbook Details Leaked
It always seems fun when we find leaked details about unreleased and unannounced products. The latest product that has fallen into that category is the Acer Aspire One 521 netbook, which is said to be sporting an AMD processor. Yup, an AMD powered netbook as opposed to one being powered by the more standard Intel Atom processor.

Anyway, so far the information is being revealed by way of Macles, which is said to have a good record of providing accurate information. That said, these are still leaked specs, which means rumor, but they should be the real deal.
Again these specs are for an Acer Aspire One 521 netbook. In terms of what we can expect, it looks like a 10.1 inch display, 1.2GHz AMD V105 single core processor, AMD M880G chipset, ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics, Bluetooth 3.0+HS and HDMI out. Additionally, it was said to have a battery that will be able to offer up to 7 hours of run time as well as a new and “compact” power adapter. Getting back to the graphics for a second, as you may have guessed by the HD in the name, this should be capable of offering HD quality (1080p) video playback.

Other specs that were not mentioned, such as the RAM and hard drive will likely follow the netbook standards and include 1GB of RAM and either a 160GB or 250GB hard drive. In terms of operating system, that is likely to be Windows 7 Starter.
Unfortunately as of now there has not been anything given in terms of a release date or pricing. But as you can expect, when that comes available we will let you know.
All things considered, it is nice to see netbook makers adding items that should make video playback better. I have been a long time netbook user, and although I rarely set out to watch video on it, there are often times when I will get a link by email and have trouble viewing. And I would imagine that I am not alone in that respect.
