HTC Droid Incredible Verizon Pre-orders Also Starting Today [Verizon Matches Best Buy Pre-order Date for the Droid Incredible by HTC Android Smartphone]
Yesterday we found out that Best Buy is going to offer the Droid Incredible by HTC for pre-order starting today, a day ahead of Verizon which was supposed to kick its own pre-order offer. Big Red wants apparently to match Best Buy’s offer and while it will not waive that mail-in rebate just yet it is ready to let you pre-order the device starting today.

Furthermore Verizon seems to shed some light on the whole internal memory matter. But here’s what the above screenshot reads:
There’s a new Droid in Town. Droid Incredible by HTC
The newest Droid combines Android 2.1 with the sophisticated simplicity of HTC Sense. It’s a phone that seems to do everything. With a 1GHz processor, 8GB onboard memory (actual formatted capacity is less) and 8-megapixel camera. And if you can find something it doesn’t do, pick up one of the 30,000 apps in the Android Market that will
Pre-order online only starting April 18.
At least that’s what the screenshot above is suggesting so far although other reports still say that Verizon is going to let you pre-order the device only starting tomorrow:

Is the top screenshot just a fake?
In case you’re still not sure what handset to choose then here’s what you need to know: the HTC Incredible is basically an upgraded version of the HTC Desire which is a better version of the Google Nexus One. The Nexus One will be available from all the top four U.S. carriers so if you were waiting for it to arrive to Verizon then getting the Droid Incredible instead seems wiser.
The only other Android handset that tops the HTC Droid Incredible so far is the HTC EVO 4G. It’s just a little better and it comes with 4G WiMAX support. Unfortunately it’s not available yet and Sprint will sell it only later this year. So if you want the best Android handset, at least when comparing specs and features, you’ll have to wait for the EVO 4G.
Last but not least, Sony Ericsson has the Xperia X10 coming soon to various markets. It’s definitely a great handset, no doubt about it, but since it might not offer you multitouch support, you might want to get the HTC Incredible instead.
So what do you say? Ready to pay $199 for the Droid Incredible by HTC and sign a two new year contract?
