Motorola’s Upgrade Plans for Android 2.1 Detailed [Wondering When Your Motorola Smartphone Will Get An Android 2.1 Update? Just Check The "Android Software Upgrade News" Page For The Latest Info]
Late March brought the Android OS 2.1 rollout for Motorola Droid users, and while I would imagine that many Droid users are happy, there is most likely a fair amount of other Android users who are left wondering when 2.1 will arrive for them. Unfortunately we cannot comment on every Android phone here in this post, but we can help out if you are looking for any Motorola related Android update information.

It seems that Motorola has taken it upon themselves, which I can only imagine is in an effort to slow down the endless stream of “when will I receive Android 2.1″ type questions, and posted a nice chart detailing all of the current plans.
The chart details the seven current Motorola Android phones including the Droid, Milestone, Backflip, Cliq, Cliq XT, Devour and Dext. And further breaks them down by area of release including the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

For the most part the news listed seems to be good. For example, the Droid (US) is noted as being in the “rolling out stages.” Of course, we already knew that was in the process. However the same goes for the Milestone for those in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Those sporting a Milestone in Latin America are “expected to see” the update sometime in Q2 2010. And last but not least in regards to the Milestone, the update for those in Canada is currently planned to begin in Q2.
Otherwise, the Cliq and Cliq XT are both planned for Q2 and the Backflip is planned for Q3.
Moving on we also have the Dext in the Asia-Pacific region which is expected to receive the update in Q3.
Finally, the Devour as well as the Dext (in Europe and Latin America) are still noted as being “under evaluation.” And with that, here is to hoping that they change to a timeframe sooner than later.
