iPhone 4G Release Date Set for June 22? [Next-gen iPhone Rumors Abound: iPhone 4G Coming on June22; iPhone 5G to Sport 8-MP Sony Camera; Verizon iPhone Spotted?]
Now that Apple has successfully launched the iPad, presented iPhone OS 4.0 to the world and refreshed its MacBook Pro line there’s one more thing to take care of this year and that’s iPhone 4G. The fourth-gen iPhone is coming this summer and nobody can stop it. With two months to go until Apple unveils the new device, we will be surrounded by more and more rumors, some more bizarre than others.

Today we find out that the iPhone 4G announcement is going to take place on June 22 and not later as previously rumored. It would seem that Apple has reserved the same conference center where it announced the other three iPhones and June 22 seems to be the day in which Apple is going to launch the device.
Another hot rumor circling the web concerns the webcam of both the iPhone 4G and iPhone 5G. It looks like OmniVision will provide a 5-megapixel shooter for the next-gen iPhone while next year Sony will take over and offer an improved 8-megapixel camera to future iPhone 5G users. Naturally there’s no way that any of the parties involved are going to confirm any of this right now and it’s too early to talk about the Ghost of Christmas Future.
Analysts do report that the 2011 iPhone will probably offer a major camera change and that’s something that we definitely expect. After all, 2011 is probably the year when the LTE iPhone will be unveiled so the new 4G data speeds will certainly fit well with a better camera.
While we’re talking about LTE iPhones we’ll also mention another hot rumor we’ve seen today regarding Verizon iPhones. According to Flurry, the analytics company that did tell us about iPhone OS 3.2 before the iPad was officially unveiled, has spotted Verizon iPhones too. Unfortunately for Verizon customers they were probably iPhone users using their handsets over a Verizon Wi-Fi connection so there’s no point getting all that excited.
