Colorware Is Now Ready To Color Your iPad

Customize Your Apple iPad, Or At Least Have The Exterior Be A Color You Prefer, Priced From $400

Colorware is not new in the gadget customizing game, however they have recently begun customizing one of the newest gadgets to hit the market — the Apple iPad. Basically, this news comes just in case that $499 (or most likely more with accessories) that you already spent on your iPad does not feel like enough, you can now send it off to the folks at Colorware and have it customized. Now that alone sounds like a good idea, and for some it may remain a good idea. Personally, though, I will choke at the $400 starting price tag.

That said, I am sure there is someone that has more money than they can comfortably spend, or maybe that someone who feels the ultimate desire to have a one-off custom colored iPad. In terms of pricing, like I mentioned it starts at $400 for a glossy painted body, and goes up to $425 for a soft-touch painted body. Fortunately you can also have the Apple logo and front button painted at no additional cost. Keep in mind though, these prices come assuming you are sending your iPad into Colorware.

Additionally, you can purchase an iPad directly from Colorware for $900. But keep in mind that $900 price tag is for a 16GB iPad with Wi-Fi only. If you are looking to up that any, you can go with a 32GB iPad for $1,000 or all the way up to a 64GB iPad with Wi-Fi for $1,110. And if you want that to have the soft-touch paint, just add in an extra $25. Of course, if you are spending a minimum of $900 I guess an extra $25 seems like chump change.

Pricing aside, there are plenty of options available for coloring. Just to begin with you can color the back, Apple logo and button. And you can make those all the same color or three different colors.

In terms of colors, there is a wide variety to pick from. All in all, it looks like you have 21 solid and 21 metallic in either glossy or soft-touch, as well as an extra 4 “Pearl” colors in glossy. Finally, for those that still cannot find a good way to go, there is always the option to create you own custom color. But be warned that comes at an additional $250.

Finally, for those interested, expect roughly a three week turn around time.
