New iPhone 3GS Ad Shows Us a “Concert”
Just last week we’ve seen a brand new iPhone 3GS ad called “Commute”. This week Apple takes an even more friendly approach in the latest iPhone 3GS commercial. “Concert” is a more personal commercial that goes to show us, yet again, why the iPhone 3GS is so popular with the crowds.

Dissecting this week’s video message from Apple we can’t but feel we have to start from the end. The lady in the commercial ends her message with the phrase: “I still don’t know how my iPhone does all that.” That’s a rather confusing image that lingers on, wouldn’t you agree?
The iPhone is a smartphone, filled with plenty of useful features. Its adopters should be well aware of what they’re buying in the first place, otherwise how could they say they made a totally informed decision? There are plenty of other mobile platforms out there which offer interesting smartphones backed up by decent app stores.
Is this where we’re getting at? Will people buy Apple products simply because they were conceived by geniuses from Cupertino? Shouldn’t we, as consumers, have all the information before buying iPhones or deciding to choose one of their rivals?
Of course the lady in the commercial has a general idea of how to use the iPhone. She has plenty of apps installed on her smartphone with one of them being Shazam, an app that helps her identify a song that’s playing. Then, she is able to buy the whole “She & Him” album and thanks to Local Concerts finds out when the band is playing in her town. Then she buys tickets, so, let’s face it folks, you can’t do all that with an iPhone and then claim you don’t know how it is able to do all that. It’s not wizardry after all; it’s just a different kind of modern computing, isn’t it?
Right after that weird, final message the ad gives credit to Apple’s U.S. carrier partner, AT&T, who makes possible the acquisition of the smartphone within the USA.
Did any iPhone ad convince you to buy an iPhone yet?
