iPhone 4G Multitasking & iAd Mobile Advertising Platform Almost Confirmed?
As you already know, in just two days from now Apple will unveil its new iPhone OS 4.0 mobile platform. We have already suggested yesterday that the new OS will bring third-party apps multitasking support but it looks like the new feature has been almost confirmed by analysts. Along with it we also heard that Apple is going to unveil its own mobile advertising platform, iAd, at the same press event scheduled for next Thursday.

Shaw Wu from Kaufman Bros. told investor that his sources say multitasking is definitely coming to iPhone OS 4.0. That means that the next-generation iPhone, also dubbed as the iPhone 4G will finally be able to offer you a feature we’ve been waiting to arrive for at least three years.
Naturally, we don’t have any official details just yet but if any of that is true than we can expect previous iPhone and iPod touch versions to be able to offer you multitasking in the near future. Most importantly, the iPad, Apple’s latest creation, will also be ready to support multitasking in the upcoming months, a feature that will make it even more popular.
Of course we can only hope that true multitasking will not actually affect battery life and that it won’t make the older iPhone and iPod touch models lag in any way. But there’s plenty of time to find out more details about it in the days to come.
Besides multitasking, the announcement of iAd is also a major thing that we should be interested in. Apple is apparently confident that it can face Google when it comes to mobile advertising and its new advertising platform is apparently ready to be tested.
So what do you say, iPhone lovers and haters? Do you have any expectations regarding the future of iPhone OS and the iPhone in general? Should multitasking finally arrive, and, more importantly, will the feature be available on older iPhone models?
