HTC Incredible Spied In Verizon Intranet
The mysterious phone known as the HTC Incredible has only come to us by way of leaked photos and stats on the device. Word some weeks ago said that the new HTC handset was coming out with Verizon Wireless. While at that time, neither Verizon or HTC confirmed that rumor – a source within a Verizon warehouse somewhere has spied the phone.

The information posted on an Android forum comes from a guy “who knows a guy” who works at a Verizon warehouse. He’s carefully taken a screenshot of an inventory page that shows that Verizon has got 156,709 units of the phone on order. Not bad for a phone that has yet to be confirmed by either the carrier or the handset manufacturer.
Still nothing on a release date on the device, although it seems to be close. Although Verizon has ordered the devices, they haven’t received them yet, according to those with experience in such things.
To confirm the details of the HTC Incredible, it’s got a 1GHz Snapdragon processor – which was described by those who used the phone as “fast, really fast”. It will have a whopping 256MB of RAM. Nothing has been confirmed on the screen size, but speculation and analyzing of the pictures have it being at least 3.5-inches, maybe bigger. People who have handled the device report it being “vibrant” and everybody has all but confirmed that it’s an OLED screen.
For software, it’s being reported to be running Android 2.1 with the HTC Sense UI. As mentioned earlier, nothing yet on pricing or a release date.

“a whopping 256MB of RAM”? Hahahaha
The Nexus One has 512mb and it’s basically older than this.
Oh and HTC Evo has 1gb of RAM and it will be be on Sprint’s 4G network.
Sprint is better than Verizon
4G is better than 3G
Sprint 4G is WAY better than Verizon 3G
I think the only thing it has going for it is it’s OLED display versus the Evo’s TFT display. And if the little crybabies at Apple get their way none of these will be coming out.
Yeah, I’m aware of how much RAM the Nexus One and HTC EVO 4G. The iPhone only has 256MB and people seem to be pleased with the speed on those. It would be interesting to see how much modern mobile apps even use at this point. I’d bargain that most aren’t even using nearly that much memory. It’s like when people put 12GB of RAM into a computer and wonder why they can’t play Crysis any faster than when they had 6GB of RAM.
Sprint’s 4G claims are a bit dubious at this point as well. Their network is not finished. Most current Sprint customers are not covered by the 4G network. Sprint is also gambling on WiMAX vs. LTE for their 4G network. LTE has some powerful backers, and if WiMAX becomes unsupported, Sprint will be in trouble, as well everybody with a WiMAX device.
All that being said, I do like the HTC EVO 4G over the HTC “Incredible”.
Why would you say, “a whopping 256MB.” When you know that the nexus one has 512mb of ram. If something is half than why would use the word “whopping”? Why the sales job? And to be clear we don’t know that it will have 256mb of ram.
I’ve been covering this ‘beat’ for a while, so please don’t doubt the fact that I knew how much memory the Nexus One had.
As for why I used ‘whopping’, maybe I felt compelled for an adjective there. My BlackBerry Bold 9000 only has 128MB of RAM so maybe I was having RAM envy. It’s one word in a 260 word post.
Ignore the trolls, Kevin. 256Mb RAM is plenty for Android 2.1 and should be enough for the next few updates too. I like neither Sprint nor Verizon since they are CDMA :)
Actually, I have heard many rumors that the Incredible has a bit more RAM than the Nexus One. It’s also supposed to be underclocked to 768mhz which will allow the batter to last longer. Also, some rumors said it will come in red; what those people don’t realize is that the red they saw is on the inside of the back cover.
