WSJ iPad App Price Confirmed for $3.99/Week
Just last week we were telling you how the Wall Street Journal official iPad application will cost you around $17 per month. Today we find out the official pricing details for the WSJ iPad app and it’s not all good news since it basically confirms the previous rumors.

The WSJ application will cost $3.99 per week which amounts to $17.29 per month. Sure it’s not a lot but it’s not cheap either and it only goes to prove my earlier point that the iPad will drain even more money from your wallet each month. The device is basically a tool that will convince customers to pay a lot for content over the course of a month even if each purchase seems really affordable. Is your wallet ready to take the plunge?
The Wall Street Journal application will also be available free of charge to iPad owners but it will lack subscriber-only content like Business and Markets and access to a 7-day archive. Basically you’ll only get top articles and market data but that should suffice too in case you’re not exactly interested in paying the extra $17.29 per month.
In case you want to subscribe to both the print and online versions of the Wall Street Journal you’ll only have to pay $2.69 which amounts to $11.67 per month and includes a 2-week free period. Doesn’t that sound like a more wallet-friendly solution?
Now if you want to subscribe to the online version only, that will set you back $1.99 per week which totals to $8.62 per month. That’s also an interesting solution which could grant you cheaper or even free access to the iPad application starting from tomorrow.
That means you could, in theory, sign up for the online subscription today and then see what happens tomorrow. In case you will be granted access to the WSJ iPad application thanks to your online subscription only, then do send us a shout!
