Sprint Unveils Satisfaction Guaranteed Or Money Back Offer

You Can Now Try Sprint For Up to 30 Days With Sprint Free Guarantee

Sprint has just released details on their latest offer, and its one that is pretty interesting. The offer sounds simple enough, pick a phone, sign up for service and then you will have up to 30 days to decide whether you are happy or realize you made a mistake.

This offer is pretty solid, and one that would have saved me a few bucks several months back. I checked the Sprint website and looked to see what the coverage map looked like for my area, in short, it looked good in terms of voice and data but real world use proved otherwise. Needless to say I cancelled my service after a short while.

But my pity story aside, this new offer, which is simply called the “Sprint Free Guarantee” will go into effect as of tomorrow April 1, 2010 and should help anyone avoid ending up in that same situation.

The offer will give users 30 days to try out the phone and service. Nothing real shocking there, other wireless carriers in the US will allow you to use the service for that same time period allowing you to cancel without having to pay an early termination fee, but the nice part about the Sprint offer is that you will not lose any money.

Well in most cases you will not lose any money. The Sprint Free Guarantee will give you a refund on the monthly charges, activation fee and the cost of your phone. Additionally they will also waive the early termination fee, restocking fee and any taxes and surcharges that come along with your monthly bill. The one catch is that extra charges may not always be covered. According to the details of the offer, the extra charges include things like “premium content, 3rd-party billing, international charges, and any taxes and Sprint surcharges associated with such extras.”

Not bad, at least now people will be able to move over to Sprint without having to worry about what it will be like once they are actually a customer. Because in reality and something that I have learned the hard way, service maps do not always paint an accurate picture. Also, just as a reminder when porting telephone numbers from carrier to carrier — that can be done after you become a customer. In other words, just sign up for the Sprint service and get a new number, then once you know you are happy call customer service and have them port your old number over to replace the newly issued number.
