Dell Offering A Free Sony Reader With Computer Purchase

For A Limited Time You Can Buy A Dell PC & Get A Sony Reader Pocket Edition For Free

This offer is extremely limited in the amount of time it will be available, but that aside it seems simple enough. All you need to do is purchase a Dell computer and you will get a Sony Reader Pocket Edition for free. Before we get into all of the details, lets get the expiration date and time out of the way — the offer will end as of April 1, 2010 at 6 AM CT.

Granted its not the best offer out there, but certainly not the worst either. A few of the computers that are available with this offer include the Dell Mini 10 netbook as well as the Inspiron 14 and Inspiron 17 notebooks. As far as those wanting a desktop, those options include the Inspiron 560 and Inspiron 580. Price wise, you are looking at somewhere between $379 for the Mini 10 and $699 for the Inspiron 17 on the notebook side or $499 and $779 for the Inspiron 560 and Inspiron 580 desktops.

In terms of the Sony Reader, like I mentioned, the model you will receive is the Reader Pocket Edition and it is currently selling for $169. Though I should point out that it normally retails for $199. Either way, getting a $170 ereader for free is still a pretty nice deal. Feature wise the Reader Pocket Edition offers a 5 inch display, 512MB of internal storage and support for ePub, PDF, BBeB Book, TXT, RTF and converted Microsoft Word files.

You can also choose to have your Sony Reader come in either silver, pink or blue.

As for those actually going ahead with a purchase, you can confirm that the Sony Reader has been added to your order by checking the “Review” section of the order process. The Reader will be listed under the “My Accessories” section.

Personally, the Mini 10 offer sounds pretty nice, after all you will get an ebook reader and a netbook for less than 400 bucks.
