iPad Clone Spotted, Pictured In China

An unknown manufacturer has apparently completed a visually-accurate Apple iPad Clone for the Chinese market.  This iPad Clone is powered by Android, running a custom UI skin to mimic the look and feel of the Apple iPad OS.

It was inevitable, right?  An iPad Clone had to be completed even before the official unit started shipping.  A Chinese mystery manufacturer has completed the task, not only imitating the design of the Apple iPad’s hardware, but modifying a version of Android with a custom iPad-like skin.  The hardware of this Apple iPad Clone is similar, but not quite as powerful as the iPad internals.  It is apparently powered by a 600MHz ARM CPU, which allows for the slim build factor of this iPad clone– just like the official 1GHz Apple A4 processor.  The display of the iPad Clone is slightly larger, reaching the full 10-inches as opposed to the 9.7-inch display of the official Apple iPad.  Will this clone feature multi-touch control?  This much has not been suggested, so it is likely you’ll find only single-touch control if you can get your hands on this clone.

This Apple iPad Clone is not expected to see a U.S. release, but Chinese buyers can apparently get their hands on an iPad Clone for around $150 USD in the near future.
