Another day, another notebook comes available for would be purchasers. One of the latest, or at least this particular model is coming from Dell and is the Precision M4500.

Feature wise, the Dell Precision M4500 will offer users a 15.6 inch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5-520M dual core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 8X DVD optical drive, NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M graphics, and a 6-cell battery. In terms of operating system, expect to find Windows 7 Home Professional, the 64 bit edition.

As far as the price for the above listed specs, that would be $1,549. But it should be noted that is just a starting price and there are plenty of extra options that one can choose. And as we all know those extra options can really drive up the price.

For example, the processor can be switched out. You have the option to pick from a few other i5′s as well as numerous i7 processors and will top out with a 2.0GHz Intel Core i7-920XM Extreme for an extra $850. Expensive, and same goes for the RAM, you can opt for 2, 4 or 8GB options in varying speeds. The high end here will be 8GB DDR3 1333MHz SDRAM and add in an extra $521.

That said, some of the more-realistic-for-the-average-type-user upgrades will come in the form of a better display. You can choose to upgrade to a 15.6 inch Full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution for a reasonable $129. Additionally, there are also options to add more storage, even including a second hard drive all together as well as a 9 cell battery, backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader. Unfortunately that backlit keyboard option is $49.

Anyway, the Dell Precision M4500 is available for order, however it is not expected to ship until April 20, 2010. Unfortunately that is still a few weeks away, but on the positive side it does come with free shipping.
