Zune HD 64 Zune.net Listing Hints at Zune HD 64 Unveiling

Zune HD 64 Link Surfaces, Zune HD 64 Specific Product Page Just a 404, For Now

Having given those of you looking to avail yourselves of a Zune HD a heads up last week concerning Dell lowering its pricing for both the Zune HD 16 and Zune HD 32 (16GB/32GB), it now appears that Microsoft are set to expand the Zune HD range of PMPs with a 64GB capacity Zune HD.

Whilst the Zune HD 64 hasn’t been officially announced as at the time of writing, the existence (and up and coming unveiling of) a Zune HD 64 has been hinted by a newly placed link to the Zune HD 64 which has appeared on Zune.net – see image below.

At present the link, though valid, only links through to a 404 but the fact that the link has appeared certainly gives a (pretty compelling) indication that the Zune HD range is about to be expand with a new model that will serve to double the current 32GB top capacity of Microsoft’s PMP.

Obviously, what with the Zune HD 64 having not even gotten official as yet, its impossible to say whether the new, higher capacity device will offer any other features on an over those already offered by the 16GB and 32GB models – but its reasonably safe to assume that the Zune HD 64 will simply pack more storage capacity whilst otherwise bringing nothing new to the table. Still, for those of you who have extensive music collections or who like to have numerous videos stored the larger capacity model will doubtless be welcomed (64GB is enough capacity to hold around 96 hours of optimised video, incidentally).

For those of you who are yet to be familiar with the Zune HD, the device, which packs a Tegra chipset, comes with a 3.3” OLED 16:9 aspect ratio, 480 x 272 resolution mulittouch display, integrated FM/HD radio and built-in WiFi (802.11b/g) whilst, in terms of multimedia capabilities, the Zune HD, which can output 720p HD video at 30fps to HDTVs via HDMI (should you wish to view videos on larger screens), takes in MP3, WMA, WMA lossless and AAC audio and WMV, Mpeg4, H.264 video file formats.
