Android on a tablet is something that has not quite yet been perfected, and likely will not be perfected until Google decides to officially support it. That said, interested users do have a few options to pick from when looking for an Internet tablet running Android. A few that come to mind include the Camangi WebStation as well as the Archos 5. And that brings me to the Archos 7 Internet Tablet, which was only recently announced and now rumored to begin shipping in as little as two weeks.

Archos choose to officially unveil the Archos 7 Internet Tablet during CeBIT, which took place last month, sadly though they have yet to give an official release date. That said, we do have that previously mentioned two week time frame, but that is far from official. Instead we are coming to that time frame by way of a few listings at online retailers. Of course, it should be pointed out that there is nothing stopping those retailers from changing that date at any time.

Anyway, in terms of features the Archos 7 Internet Tablet will come sporting a, you guessed it, 7 inch display. But more specifically, it will have 7 inch touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution, a 600MHz Rockchip RK 2808 processor, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB connectivity and 8GB of internal storage. Other specs include the tablet measuring just 0.47 inches thick, a weight of about 0.8 pounds and a battery that can offer up to 44 hours of music and 7 hours of video playback.

But getting to what some would consider the more important part — the price. Current prices are showing 179 and 199 Euros, which would be either $240 or $267 US dollars. Though, just like that two week shipping time frame, those prices are also subject to change. Not to mention, the Archos 7 is currently mentioned on the official Archos site with a “starting from $199″ price tag.
