Nokia E72 Coming To 3UK Network
Ask and you shall receive. Mobile phone provider 3UK has decided that it will soon be stocking the Nokia E72, reportedly after considerable customer demand for the newer Nokia smartphone. 3UK had decided to forgo the phone originally, despite carrying the earlier E71.

Regarding the decision to carry the Nokia E72, Sylvia Chind, executive at 3UK said: “Over the last few months we received a number of comments about our Nokia E72 ranging decision, which isn’t surprising after the success of the Nokia E71. We deliberated long and hard about the phone – about how it fits into our range and how much demand there would be for it – but the comments on our blog convinced us that bringing the Nokia E72 into our range would be the right thing to do.”
There you have it, the power of the people swayed their decision. 3UK also offers some higher-priced BlackBerry devices but their customers craved the new E72. The E63 and E71 from Nokia are both featured on Three’s network as well, so one supposes that Nokia’s brand of smartphones has gotten some fans who’ve used the devices before.
The E72 has a physical QWERTY keyboard and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash. It’s running the old Symbian S60 on an ARM11 600MHz processor with 128MB of RAM. Although Symbian S60 might not be the most celebrated mobile OS these day, it does come with Ovi Maps and the Ovi Store, both of which are (relatively) decent. The price for the unlocked device was £359 ($534), expect it a bit cheaper with a contract.
Moral of the story? Complaining can get you want you want.
