MacBook (Pro) 3D Appears Out of Nowhere; Specs & Features Revealed Already? [MacBook 3D: Intel Core i7 CPU, Up to 1TB SSD, AMOLED-backlit LCD, Up to 14 Hours Battery Life & 3D Support; All Just a Concept Laptop]
Admit it, for a second there your heart stopped and your brain started to come up with a lot of questions regarding this MacBook (Pro) 3D you’ve spotted while browsing the web. Well so did I until I quickly understood it’s all a concept meant to make Apple fans dream about the possible future.

Like we pointed out a few times already 2010 is already the year of the tablet but it also happens to be the year of the 3D TV too. The first 3D HDTVs are already being announced while TV networks are currently considering providing 3D content to interested consumers.

Soon 3D-capable laptops and notebooks are going to hit us and while it’s too early to say if Apple would jump on the 3D wagon, we can definitely imagine the MacBook 3D already.
This mean machine is said to sport basically the same features that regular MacBooks and MacBooks Pro will offer but added to that we will find stereoscopic iSight cameras, a touchscreen trackpad and a hingeless spine design. 3D glasses are apparently still required to make the whole MacBook 3D work although we’d very much like not to need them and still be able to enjoy future 3D environments.

But since we are talking about this MacBook 3D concept laptop today, let’s look at the specs and features it should offer:
- Screen size: 13-inch, 15-inch, 17-inch
- AMOLED-backlit LCD screen: 1080p support, 16:9 aspect ratio and 178 degree viewing angle
- Intel Core i7 processor
- 3D-ready NVIDIA graphics card
- 128GB to 1TB SSD
- Up to 12/14 hours of battery life
- Dual Stereoscopic iSight cameras and iGlasses
- MiniDisplay port
- SD card slot
- USB 3.0 connectivity
- Blu-Ray combo (ruh-roh?)
- 20% thinner and 30% lighter than any other MacBook
- Glide-out screen (no-hinge required)
- Touchscreen trackpad

We’re impressed, at least on paper, but until that day comes when Blu-ray players and 3D displays are going to be available on new MacBooks we’ll be happy to have those Intel quad-core processors equip our next Macs. Right, MacBook fans?
