Apple iBookstore Pricing Details Leak Again [Gone Are The $9.99 iPad Ebook Prices, New Leaked Screenshots Reflecting Higher Prices]

It seems like just a few days ago that we saw the leaked iBookstore pricing, and at the time it seemed like good news. Oh, wait, that was just a few days ago, but things change quickly in the world of the Internet and we are now seeing more of those leaked screenshots. Except this time the pricing in not quite as nice looking.

Based on these most recent screenshots, it looks like most of the books that were once pictured with a price of $9.99 have been given an increase — all the way up to $12.99. That is in addition to some of the books that already had prices as high as $14.99. The titles that have seen price increases seem to all be from the New York Times best seller list and include such titles as The Silent Sea, The Help, Deep Shadow, Angelology and many more.

Bottom line, it looks like these once leaked but still believable prices now have some room for questioning. That said, it does make you wonder why the sudden change. Maybe someone is just ‘leaking’ information so they can see how fast we tech bloggers can jump on a Friday afternoon. But joking aside, I cannot help but wonder why the new screenshot with new prices, after all you would think Apple would want to keep the pricing at $9.99. After all the iPad will also have other ebooks such as the Kindle app and Barnes & Noble Reader app, and both of those apps have stores with book pricing around $9.99.

If nothing else, it looks like we may have to wait until April 3rd arrives and the iPad is in our hands before we can see the official iBookstore pricing. Because regardless of how many leaked images we see before then, they are all unofficial.
