Nintendo Wii Netflix Streaming Discs Have Begun Shipping
According to the latest post on the Netflix blog as well as the email that I just found in my inbox, the Netflix streaming discs for the Nintendo Wii have begun shipping. As of now the initial batch has shipped, which means that if you were amongst the first to place a request yours should be arriving shortly, maybe even tomorrow.

Of course, we Nintendo owners are a little late to the streaming party, which means that we will be joining the already existing support for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Additionally, for those with a total non-interest in gaming, Netflix streaming can also be handled with other devices such as your home computer, a Roku digital video player or one of the many available Internet connected televisions or Blu-ray players.
For those not as familiar with the Netflix watch instantly service. Current subscribers have access to watch “as often as you want, anytime you want.” But marketing speak aside, Netflix does have a decent amount of available movies and television episodes just waiting to be watched. The nice part about the instant streaming is that it does not affect your by mail DVD’s. And just in case anyone was worrying, this streaming disc does not count against the regular DVD’s that you have out. And that really means that if you are cheap like me and subscribe to the $8.99 a month one DVD out at a time plan you will still be able to have your streaming disc and a regular DVD.
Finally, for those that have not yet (or cannot remember if they) requested a streaming disc, just head on over to http://netflix.com/wii. Once on that page you can either request the disc or check your current shipping status. And in a little bit of good news, well good news for me, mine should be arriving tomorrow.
