iPhone 4G to Feature Samsung Touchscreen? [Apple Signed $240 Million Deal with Samsung for Touchscreen Displays Needed for the iPad (and iPhone 4G?)]
We still have a few months to go until the iPhone 4G becomes reality but it looks like the closer we get the more details we find out about the upcoming device. This time around we heard that Samsung is in serious talks with Apple and if everything goes well then we might just see Samsung make the touchscreen displays needed by the next-generation iPhone.

What’s officially official so far is that Samsung has inked a $240 million deal with Apple and the Korean manufacturer will supply no less than 3 million 9.7-inch touchscreen displays for the iPad.
What does that tell you and me? Well it looks like not only is Apple pretty confident in upcoming iPad sales but the company must have sold quite an important number of units so far too. The iPad is still available for pre-order in the USA and in just a little over a week it will be available in stores.
No official numbers have been mentioned so far by Cupertino in regard to current sales but the partnership with Samsung is a strong indication that Apple wants its iPad to become a bestseller device in the months to come. We don’t know the actual timeframe in which Samsung has to make these 3 million iPad displays but some analysts say that Apple could be selling a lot of tablets this year alone.
Besides Samsung, LG is also providing displays for Apple’s iPad and so far we can count deals worth $1.04 billion with Samsung and LG which will provide 3 and 10 million iPad displays, respectively, in the near and distant future.
Getting back to the iPhone 4G, one of the probable candidates to the best device of 2010 award, we will look forward to see whether Apple or Samsung will have anything to say about any future cooperation concerning fourth-gen iPhone displays and we will bring you all the hot details the minute we have them.
But what do you say, iPhone fans, with the HTC EVO 4G out there, are you still looking to upgrade to the next-gen iPhone or would you be open to other alternatives too?
