Corsair's Flash Voyager Mini USB 2.0 Drive Lineup Gets An Update
USB flash drives may not be as useful for everyone as they once were, but at the same time they do not seem to be going anywhere, in fact companies are still rolling out new drives with more and more available storage. One of the latest is coming from Corsair, who have updated their Flash Voyager Mini line by adding a 32GB storage option.

For those that have not seen the Flash Voyager Mini USB drives, as the name implies they are mini in size and if you so desire, they should fit nicely on a keychain. In terms of read/write speeds, users can expect less than 90mA read and less than 125mA write. These drives come sporting a rubberized exterior coating that means the drives are both water resistant and shock proof. In terms of compatibility, they are noted as being plug and play with Windows, Mac or Linux. Another nice little perk is that the drives are retractable, which means no little cap that may get lost.
In addition to the recently added 32GB drive, the Flash Voyager Mini USB lineup also has drives in 4, 8 and 16GB storage sizes available. Price wise it looks like the drives start at around $17 for 4GB, $25 for 8GB and $50 for 16GB’s. As of now, and according to the press release, the 32GB Flash Voyager Mini drive is available as of today, however a quick check of the “Shop Online” button does not offer an results.
So, what about you, are USB flash drives still part of your gear? For me I have to say yes, I am still using a combination of a 4GB SanDisk Micro Cruzer and a 16GB Victorinox Swiss Army flash drive. That said, most of the tasks that I use a flash drive for are quickly being replaced with online cloud bases storage.
