Instapaper Pro App For iPad Being Previewed
Marco Arment, the developer behind the Instapaper app has come forward and announced that he is planning to be ready for the iPad on day one. What can you say, this is certainly good news for those Instapaper users who are planning to purchase an iPad.

For those that may not be familiar with the Instapaper app, overall its pretty simple, what it does is allow you to bookmark and save articles that you find on the web for later reading. The Instapaper app also formats the article in a nice iPhone (soon to be iPad) friendly format. Another nice perk that comes with the app is that those saved articles can be read in an offline mode, which is perfect for frequent travelers or those that venture into dead zones often. That offline reading feature will also translate very nicely into a perk when dealing with a Wi-Fi only iPad.
Now, moving on to more of what we can expect in terms of the iPad specific Instapaper app. The app is going to be a universal (iPad and iPhone) app, which means those that have already purchased Instapaper Pro for the iPhone will be able to use the soon-to-be released iPad app without having to shell out any additional money. For those that have not yet purchased the app, it is currently priced at $4.99.
According to the developer, the iPad version of Instapaper Pro will look like the iPhone version, except bigger. Of course, there are some “slight interface tweaks and redesigns where appropriate.” But in the end many of the features that users have come to expect and rely on remain the same including dark mode, pagination and adjustable fonts.
As for what we can expect to see in the future — more tweaks and changes. After all, Marco has fallen into the same category as many other developers. That category? Those that are trying to develop for the iPad without ever having seen or held the iPad. In other words the first iPad version of Instapaper Pro may not be perfect but personally I would rather have not perfect than nothing at all.
