HP has officially unveiled a new laptop which will become the flagship offering by HP in the notebook market.  The HP EliteBook 8740w Notebook is packed with top-of-the-line hardware and a price which reflects its power, a system targeted toward gamers, media professionals and others who demand unparalleled laptop performance.

All of the major PC manufacturers have top-of-the-line products in which they invest their greatest design and components.  To show just how powerful an HP laptop can get, HP has released the new HP EliteBook 8740w Notebook which is targeted toward users with out-of-the-ordinary demands.  The HP EliteBook 8740w Notebook features up to a 1.73GHz 820QM processor (or an Intel i5 or i7 chip),  a 1GB  Nvidia Quadro or ATI FirePro graphics processor and up to 16GB (!) of RAM.  The cherry on top for this machine is the 17-inch 1920 x 1080 HP DreamColor LED-backlit display, one boasting a pretty scary resolution as powered by those sexy graphics card options.  Additionally, the new HP EliteBook 8740w Notebook is one of the first to offer USB 3.0, should you want to build your machine ahead-of-the-curve.

The price, however, is as “elite” as the hardware within.  If you want to get yourself a new HP EliteBook 8740w Notebook, prices will start at $1,999 and can quickly stretch up to $3,899 and higher once you start customizing this bad boy (or girl).  She’s ready to ship if you are.  While the offerings of the gaming-specific notebook manufacturers are certainly sexy, it’s nice to see what the commercial big wigs can drop now and then.  The new HP EliteBook 8740w Notebook is precisely the kind of example that this writer gets just a bit excited about.
