Nokia Symbian 3 Smartphone Gets Leaked but Won’t Arrive Soon
With the CTIA 2010 being the hot event in town we would expect that the biggest players in the mobile business would get ready for some fancy announcements in order to keep fans from choosing a direct competitor instead. I am talking about the smartphone business mostly since that’s where the real battle is fought.

Nokia is yet to prove itself in this new smartphone environment we’re currently witnessing and Symbian isn’t cut for the job anymore. But I guess you already know that particularly if you have been following MWC 2010, an event where Symbian^3 was announced as the future mobile platform of the Finish company.
Following the official launch of Symbian^3 we’ve gotten the first Symbian^4 leaks and we’ve seen a first concept Nokia smartphone running version 4.

Today we have spotted a new Nokia smarpthone, also rumored to run Symbian^3 at some point later this year and, most importantly, said to be the next flagship phone of the company.
We all know what happened to the previous flagship phone, don’t we? The Nokia N97 has not been as successful as Nokia executives expected and failed to fight against the iPhone and other manufacturer’s flagship handsets.
The phone in the picture here is said to come with a 3.5- to 4-inches touchscreen display, 12-megapixel camera with Xenon flash and Carl Zeiss optics, HDMI support, 3.5-mm headphone jack and no slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Why we can always question the nature of these leaked photos, something tells me that maybe Nokia wanted to have these pictures out on the web at this point in time. The CTIA 2010 is currently underway in Las Vegas where a very hot phone is rumored to be unveiled, the HTC Supersonic. Also, considering that Microsoft MIX10 even has just shown everyone what Windows Phone 7 can really do, Nokia should better get in the game and prepare for a fierce smartphone battle later this year. And what better way to do so than by leaking its next flagship smartphone?
How do you feel about Nokia smartphones? Any chance for you to pick one this year?

Insider Says Last Nokia Symbian Phone Will Be Successor To Nokia N8, Windows Phone 7 From Now On

I woulnd’t call N97 a failiure as it sold more in a month than the N95 that ended up selling +17 million. N97 have sold at least +5 million, but i think the fail part wasn’t about the sales, but more about getting people interested about Nokia’s very high end like in the past with N series.
You forgot to mention MeeGo that’s afterall Nokia’s high end platform for the future and first device being announced in Nokia World this September.
Well yes, I didn’t mean to say Nokia didn’t sell lots of N97 handsets. But the handset didn’t live up to their expectations. I think they officially said that. As for MeeGo, I haven’t forgot about it really, and as much as anyone else passionate about mobile technology would love to see it succeed. But I don’t think Nokia is ready to ditch Symbian in favor of Maemo or MeeGo yet and that’s why I haven’t mentioned them yet. Still focusing/hoping Symbian can have a say in the smartphone business.
