Cricket Rolls Out New "Simplified" Calling Plans
Plenty of people in the US tend to think of Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint as the only available wireless carries. And for the most part that is an accurate statement, well, accurate in terms of them being the major wireless carriers. Of course, that does not mean they are the only players in town. One of those other carriers is Cricket Communications and they have recently announced that they are now able to offer service in all 50 US States as well as a new and “simplified” set of calling plans. In total, Cricket Communications is now offering service in 125 cities across the country including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

“We believe our nationwide coverage and enhanced service plan structure represents the highest value offer in the wireless marketplace,” said Al Moschner, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Cricket
Speaking of those new service plans, users will be able to choose from the four available options which are priced at $30, $40, $50 or $60 a month. As for breaking down what each plan offers;
- The $30 Basic Plan comes with unlimited nationwide talk and long distance.
- The $40 More Plan offers the same features as the Basic Plan plus nationwide text, caller ID, picture messaging, video messaging, voicemail, call waiting, three way calling, call forwarding, 411 and mobile web.
- Stepping up to the $50 All Plan will also give you international texting, mobile email, data backups, and Cricket Navigation.
- Finally, the $60 Premium Plan offers all of the previously mentioned features as well as mobile video and 100 nationwide roaming minutes.
Of course, Cricket does not offer complete coverage across the US, which means that if you are traveling or leaving your home base often it may not be the best available option. But then again, on the plus side, all of the plans are contract free and may be a good option for parents looking to get their child a first cell phone.

Does your unlimited plan work in madison ohio?
I really don’t see why these “unlimited” deals are so popular. Most people use their phones much less than is needed by their current plans – and yet everybody is now going “unlimited”.
Just a waste of money, if you ask me. I will sign up for unlimited when it gets to $15 a month because that is what my NET10 prepaid phone is costing me. Why should I spend more if I don’t USE more?
@Audrey, Agreed, you should never pay for more than you will use.
In my case I like the idea of unlimited because it takes the stress away from giving my daughter a cell phone. I may not always get the full value of unlimited, but not having to constantly worry about and monitor her minutes is worth the trade off for me.
I wish to thank the Cricket Network for simplifying my life. I am a disabled, housebound veteran on Social Security. And for those reasons I must find simpler and cost effective ways to live comfortably. When I saw your Basic $30.00 plan I thought I was dreaming. All my closest family and friends live in other states. And I live in a care-home facility where the home phone is restricted as a business phone. So you were really a godsend…Thank you again for helping people such as myself and countless others whom are benefited by you….Sincerely yours, Scott Brommers, PHX, Az.
