Viliv Products Now Available With Best Buy [Best Buy Mobile Is Now Stocking the Viliv S5 Mobile Internet Device, the X70 Tablet & the S7 Convertible Netbook]

This past weekend saw the introduction of Viliv products at Best Buy, which is particularly good news for those in the US because in the past the availability of Viliv was limited. In total, or at least initially it looks like Best Buy will be carrying five products to include two versions of the S5, two versions of the S7 and the X70.

For those that may not be as familiar with Viliv products, that is pretty understandable as Viliv is a Korean PC maker and the devices has been pretty limited here in the US. For those like myself who have been drooling over the X70 for a while, this is particularly good news because the availability is now there and the price seems pretty fair. The one disappointment with the product listings at Best Buy Mobile is that they are a little mislabeled, and actually caused some initial confusion. For example, the X70 is listed as a netbook, but it is actually a tablet — with no hardware keyboard.

Lets get into what Best Buy Mobile is offering.

First up is the Viliv S5, this is a Mobile Internet Device (MID) that features a 4.8-inch (1024 x 600) touchscreen display. Other features of the S5 include a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, S-Video, two USB ports, built-in speakers and a 2-cell lithium-polymer battery. The S5 is available in two models, the differences include one having a 60GB hard drive with the other having built-in 3G modem and a 32GB SSD. Price wise the 3G capable model is $799.99 and the non-3G capable model is $549.99

Moving on we have the Viliv X70 Internet tablet. This model features a 7-inch touchscreen display with a 1024 x 600 resolution, a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, two USB ports, a built-in webcam, speakers and card reader. Price wise, the X70 is $879.

Next up is the S7, which again is available in two versions. The Viliv S7 is a convertible style netbook that features a 7-inch (1024 x 600) touchscreen display. Other features of the S7 include a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, 1GB of RAM, a built-in webcam, card reader, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth and a 2-cell lithium-polymer battery. The difference between the two S7 models include 3G and storage. You can opt for the model with a 60GB hard drive for $579 or the 3G capable model with a 32GB SSD for $649.

And in the end, all models listed above come with Windows XP Home.
