The Panel Is a Portable 13-In LCD from MEDL Tech [The Panel Looks Like an iPad But It Really Isn’t a Tablet, Just a Simple Portable Extra LCD Monitor]
How many times did you wish for an extra monitor, like I do now, when working from your laptop? Unfortunately if you happen to be traveling a lot for work-related purposes carrying an extra LCD monitor can be a major pain. Luckily for you MEDL Tech has a brand new and very portable 13-inch LCD display which they apparently call The Panel.

The Panel is a “TFT active-matrix LCD, LED-backlit” 13.3-inch display ready to be neatly packed inside your laptop case/bag and taken on the road. Sure you’ll have the extra hassle to deal with if you’re frequently flying since the airport security will want to see the display up close but it certainly will pay off later on when you’ll be able to enjoy that extra screen space.
The Panel will be able to offer you a 1,280 x 800 resolution, 400:1 contrast ratio, 300cd/m2 brightness and when it comes to actual usage you’ll be happy to know that The Panel is supposed to be quite battery friendly. The official specs say that it can offer you up to 5 hours of battery life thanks to its internal, rechargeable, Li-ion batteries. Assuming that you have one of those laptops out there that have really dependable batteries you’re looking at quite an impressive working autonomy. Otherwise you’ll just have to rely on your computer’s power cord to bring all that extra juice to both the notebook and the extra monitor.
The LCD monitor is compatible with both PCs and Macs but I guess you were already expecting that, and it will come with Mini-USB 2.0 connectivity, Mini-HDMI, VGA, Component Video, S-Video and two DVI ports.
Curious about its size? It only measures 0.63-0.96 inches in height, 12.72 inches in width and 8.46-inches in depth while weighing just 2.2 pounds. You’ll hardly feel its weight which is also quite important especially if you’re already carrying other equipment with you at all times.
Pricing details and availability dates are not available at this point but we’ll keep you informed as soon as MEDL Tech starts selling it.
