HTC Desire Coming from T-Mobile UK & Amazon France

HTC Desire Android Smartphone to Hit Major European Markets in the Weeks to Come; Unlocked Price Around €500

Those of you that haven’t purchased a Google Nexus One in Europe yet should better hold on to your precious cash. There’s an alternative for it and it is going to be hitting major carriers and retailers in the weeks to come. I am talking about HTC’s other Nexus One version, the HTC Desire which was launched at MWC 2010 earlier this year.

This Android smartphone has been spotted in two major European markets such as UK and France where T-Mobile UK and Amazon France, respectively, are preparing to offer it to their customers.

If you happen to live in the UK and love T-Mobile then you’ll probably be thrilled to hear that the HTC Desire is coming soon. The phone is expected to be available for free as long as you’re willing to get a new two year contract of at least £35 per month. If that sounds too expensive for a monthly fee then you could also get the HTC Desire for £129 when bundling it with a new contract of at least £15 per month.

Naturally Orange and Vodafone would gladly offer similar prices so it looks like you’re in for a tough decision yourself.

As for customers in France, the local Amazon shop has listed the HTC Desire for sale. The device will be available for €503 which could be a little too expensive for most buyers. That’s the unlocked price, of course, so French customers can sit tight and wait for their local carriers to start selling the HTC Desire for heavily subsidized prices.

That being said we will be waiting to see who will win unofficial battle for the hottest Android handset in town. We have various candidates hitting multiple markets and one of them might just be the next Motorola Droid, so to speak. HTC is getting ready to launch the Desire, the Legend, the Incredible and the Supersonic while Sony Ericsson sits on an Android jewel, the Xperia X10. And let’s not forget that Google is still pushing its Nexus One (also an HTC-made device) so things are about to get very interesting. What about you, Motorola and Samsung? Do you have anything to declare?
