Acer Aspire 1825PT, 1825PTZ Sneak In [Acer Begins Selling 11-inch Touchscreen Convertible Netbooks, Core 2 Duo Processor, 4GB RAM]

Acer’s new Aspire 1825PT and Aspire 1825PTZ convertible netbooks seem to defy an exact description as they straddle the fine line between netbook and light notebook. At any rate, they definitely look handy by their specs. Details of the netbooks come by way of eRetailers accidentally posting their product info early. They’ll both be convertible touchscreen notebooks where the screen can bend back to form a tablet-like form factor.

Both will offer 11.6-inch touchscreens. The 1825PTZ will be the more high-end model, as it will sport an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor (clocked at 1.3GHz) while it will come with 4GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. Likewise, the 1825PT will be the less expensive model. It’ll come with an Intel Pentium SU4100 processor (with 1.3GHz clockspeed) and only 3GB of RAM along with 250GB of HDD space. Both models will come with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium.

Expect these computers to take the place of the similar named 1820PT notebooks in Acer’s lineup. As mentioned earlier, they haven’t been officially unveiled yet, but made an sneak appearance on an Italian website. That retailer had it listed for the high price of €693 ($943) for the larger 1825PTZ. However, we expect the price to drop a bit, maybe by $200, when it makes its release in the US and England.

Speculation on the price aside, these notebooks are expected to make their release “in time for Easter”, one site reports, which would put it coming out sometime before early April.
