Having just offered a heads up for those of you packing the HTC Hero concerning the HTC Hero Android 2.1 update we can also confirm that those of you who have a BlackBerry Bold 9700 with Vodafone can snag an update of your own, namely OS 5.0.0.545.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 OS 5.0.0.545 has been available prior to now, of course, in the guise of an unofficial leak, but if you want the Real McCoy and you’re with Vodafone then you can head over here to get the download.

Of course, should you happen to own a BlackBerry Bold 9700 and you’re with another network, and you fancy getting your device updated, you could always use this one and delete the vendor.xml file.

As always when updating any such device, do ensure you make a backup (the file may be official but things can go wrong and you’ll want to ensure that, should they do so, you’re suitably covered).
