You know I’ll tell you to grab a huge chunk of salt for this one, boys and girls, since the handset in the picture here looks too good to be true. The device is said to be one of LG’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 Series handsets and this time around we’re not talking about the LG Panther which we’ve already seen.

Today we have a HTC HD2-like device here and I think that’s the best description/comparison I can make for you right now. If only the HD2 had a full QWERTY slide out keyboard then my comparison would be even more accurate. Needless to say it caught my attention even though I am well aware it might be just a beautiful render of a device that doesn’t really exists yet.

Moving past my 8 reasons not to ditch the iPhone for a WP7S smartphone right now, I will admit that this baby right here looks pretty mean. The handset is rumored to sport a more than generous touchscreen display ready to handle our crazy HD needs, a 1GHz processor coming probably from Qualcomm, 8GB of internal memory with no possibility of adding any extra storage and a resolution of either 800 x 480 or 480 x 320 in order to comply with Redmond’s specifications, a full QWERTY keyboard and, naturally, Windows Phone 7 Series running multitasking-lessly in the background.

The picture originally appeared on Neowin but has been taken down since it was first spotted. That means that either they posted something they shouldn’t have or, the other very possible alternative, that they posted up a fake meant to catch our attention.

Either way our attention has been caught and now we’re waiting anxiously to see what LG has to say in the smartphone business. If its upcoming WP7S phones are as cool as this picture suggests then I will definitely have a new found respect for them.
