Astro A30 Gaming Headset Released For Gamers On The Go
Astro has released a new gaming headset designed for a wide range of gaming applications at home or on the road. While the feature offering of the new Astro A30 Gaming Headset is attractive, the price puts it just out of range of casual gamers at $149.95.

While the price is a bit too steep for once-a-week gamers, Astro likely wouldn’t apologize– their product is targeted toward professional gamers, those who spend serious money building total-experience gaming rigs that don’t miss a detail. The Astro A30 headphones are designed for these gamers who want a set of cans that’ll do everything at home or on-the-go. The A30′s feature two microphones, one a removable boom mic (cool!) and the other an in-line microphone for mobile talk on an iPhone or other smartphone. A30 also features a swappable cable system, one for PC gaming, another for console machines and a third for mobile use.
The Astro A30 gaming headphones are shipping now for $149.95, with a Dolby 5.1-enabled MixAmp bundle for $229.95. These are likely far out of the price range of casual gamers, but serious gamers with a need for modular, mobile audio options may want to keep them in mind.

ok so let me get this right…Astro is trying to convince people that a gamer needs a $150 stereo headset that requires an upgrade to the $230 package with amplifier to use on the PS3? They push the surround sound thing so much but you still need the amplifier! It’s not $150, it’s $230! Astro’s A40 was WAY overhyped, so the A30 will be no different. Come on Astro, are you serious?
